Cartoon Black History: Casper the Friendly Ghost
Much like climate change, ghosts are real no matter how much you may want to deny it. Even if all the other stories were fabrications, his is unquestionable. I have all the proof you’ll ever need in this biography of a boy that was taken too soon.
In a gruesome, nappy hair-combing accident, Casper fell into a coma from the pain. He never arose. His mother was shattered. In her bereaved state, she called on every shaman, medicine man and voodoo priest that would listen. She was unaware that her prayers would be answered.
Yeah, he’s smiling. That’s because, even in death, Casper’s cucumber cool. Being a spirit didn’t mean his roots left him. As a matter of fact, he was more in tune with them. Hence, he was blacker than ever. How? Well, Casper can fly, but he still can’t swim…
This is unequivocal evidence of what a black mother’s love and a black boy’s strengthened will can accomplish. Yes, black love is strong enough to defeat death… but not the cops. Even friendly black ghosts are still prone to FWB (flying while black).
Ghost brutality is on the rise. Casper is just one of many innocent victims of these, so-called, Ghostbusters. Make sure nothing like this happens to your loved ones in the afterlife. I will be setting up a march on the Capitol this Tuesday to protest this sickening trend… will you be there?
